Seminar Focus

The more effectively a business plans and executes those plans, the more successful and profitable it will be. Ownership transition planning always plays an important role in a viable strategic plan. Attracting and keeping talent along with providing an exit strategy for retiring owners are mission critical elements for successful firms.

Seminar instructor John Pruitt, founder of A/E Consulting Services, Inc., will examine how to develop an ownership transition plan that fits your firm, and then how to implement the plan. Creative paths are discussed, including the use of deferred compensation programs, Limited Liability Companies, ESOPs, and serial redemptions.

Owners, potential owners and managers of firms who want to better understand how to develop effective strategic and ownership transition plans are encouraged to attend. Special features of this seminar include a lively question and answer section, and extensive handouts included as part of the course materials.

You will learn:

  • How to attract and keep more talented employees, how to work with preferred clients, and how to present more options when owners retire.
  • What constitutes “value” and techniques used to measure the value of firms. The legal environment of company valuations, what to expect, and how to identify “hidden” assets and liabilities.
  • How to get your firm ready for a possible merger/acquisition.
  • How to develop key employees into qualified owners, and how to put strategic planning, ownership transitioning and company valuations together.
